Huskies go pink to support Breast Cancer research

What: This Friday (Oct. 23), the Saint Mary’s University Huskies football team will use pink tape when they get taped up for their home game against St. FX. The athletes hope to raise awareness of Breast Cancer research and raise needed funds in the fight against the disease. Other fundraising initiatives by the Huskies will be unveiled at the Huskies basketball home games (men’s and women’s) at The Tower on Nov. 13, as well as at the women’s hockey home game at the Alumni Arena on Nov. 27.
 
Where: The football game will take place at Huskies Stadium at Saint Mary’s University

When: The football game this Friday begins at 7 p.m. The fundraising initiative will conclude on Wednesday, Jan. 27.  

Who: Huskies student athletes

Details: The Athletes Council at Saint Mary’s (made up of student representatives from each of the Huskies teams) recently decided to throw their fundraising support and influence behind the efforts of the Breast Cancer Foundation. The Council will have a Breast Cancer Awareness booth setup at the football game and will be selling t-shirts sponsored by Cleve’s Source for Sports. The fundraising initiative will conclude on Jan. 27 when the Athletes Council presents a cheque to the Breast Cancer Foundation.
