If Saint Mary's was attempting to send notice to the Saint Francis Xavier X-Men that their rushing attack was at full capacity as the AUS Semi Final between the two teams draws near, consider the message delivered.

The Huskies climbed on the backs of Craig Leger (Salmon River, NS.) and Devon Jones (St.Albert, Alb.) to ride into the sunset on a beautiful Saturday afternoon at Huskies Stadium, defeating the Mount Allison Mounties 59-21, after outscoring the visitors from Sackville 42-7 in the first half.

Leger would run for 154 yards on 13 carries, while Jones, fresh off an injury that has kept him sidelined for most of the 2011 season, chipped in 123 yards on 16 carries and scored two touchdowns to pace the Huskies (6-2) to victory. Saint Mary's out-rushed the Mounties by a count of 414 –84 in front of 950 fans at the stadium.

Jack Creighton (Port Colbourne, Ont.) started for the Huskies and played deep into the third quarter before giving way to rookie Jesse Mills (Halifax, NS.). Creighton completed 9 of 15 passes for 188 yards and four touchdowns while his favorite target, WR/KR Jahmeek Taylor (Mississauga, Ont.), tallied 133 all purpose yards to finish with 1058 on the season.

Rob Jubenville (Ottawa, Ont.) led the Huskies on defence with seven tackles and three sacks. Placekicker Brett Lauther (Truro, NS.) connected on three field goals from 38, 35, and 23 yards respectively.

Mounties QB Jake Hotchkiss (Lloydminster, Alb.) completed 14 of 29 passes for 236 yards with two touchdowns, while Te Nguyen (Oakville, Ont.) led Mount Allison on the defensive side of the ball with a staggering thirteen tackles and two sacks.

The Mounties finish the season with an 0-8 record and will miss the playoffs while Saint Mary's will host the X-Men (2-6, third place) next Saturday, November 5th, at 1:00 at Huskies Stadium. The game can be seen on Eastlink Television in the Maritimes and on www.sportstream.ca worldwide.
