HUSKIES NAME NEW VOLLEYBALL RECRUIT

Saint Mary’s Huskies women’s volleyball head coach Darren Russell is pleased to announce that Leah Springate has committed to the Huskies line up for 2010-2011. A native of Canada, Leah lives in Texas and attends Kingwood High School which has received the Lone Star Cup 5 out of the last 10 years (an award presented to the Texas school with the highest combined achievement in Athletics and Academics). Leah earned an invitation to the 2009 USA Volleyball Girls’ Youth Training Camp which invites 1000 girls nationwide. “We are very thrilled to have her join the Huskies. She is a great person both on and off the court and she is highly motivated to help us reach the next level”. Leah, a 6’2 rightside, currently plays for the Texas Thunder U18 National Team.
