(HALIFAX, N.S.)—The Saint Mary's Huskies cracked the U SPORTS Top 10 rankings in Week 2, making an appearance at the No. 10 spot for the first time this year. Tonight's game will be live on AUSTV.
In week three of the AUS, the 2-0 Huskies host the No. 7 Acadia Axemen tonight from Huskies Stadium at 7 p.m.
Acadia's 2-0 on the year and are the top-rated offence in the Atlantic University Sport football conference.
The Axemen average 53.5 points per game compared to SMU's 28.5 points a game.
In yards per game, Acadia tops SMU 553-350, with 300 yards coming thru the air per game while 253 yards come by the running game.
SMU's 350 yards per game are paced with 245.5 yards in the passing game while 104.5 yards are gained on the ground.
When it comes to total defence, the Huskies have the better ranked defence, only allowing 326 yards per game while Acadia gives up 354 yards a contest.
Acadia gives up 214.5 yards passing a game while SMU surrenders 137.0 yards a game.
The Axemen are better against the run, only giving up 139.5 yards while SMU gives up 189.0 yards a contest.
SMU doubles up Acadia on sacks, 8-4 while the Axemen give up 16.0 points a game versus Saint Mary's 19.0 a game.
