Huskies honour Historic All-Black line

(Halifax, NS) On Thursday, October 12th,  Saint Mary's University, held an event called "Hockey and the Black Experience".

The event was held to celebrate the history of black hockey players in Canada, the Maritimes, and at Saint Mary's itself, where in the late 1960s and early 1970s, the Huskies featured the first All-Black line ever in University hockey.

Tonight, we were honoured to welcome three members of that historic All-Black line, Bob Dawson, Darrell Maxwell, and Percy Paris, along with an honoured guest, the first black man ever to play in the NHL, here in Halifax to represent the NHL, Willie O'Ree, for a ceremonial puck drop at our men's hockey game vs StfX.
