Saint Mary's Huskies men's hockey alumnus Dylan Di Perna (BComm'20) will represent the host nation of Italy at the 2026 Olympics Winter Games.
Di Perna, a defenceman out of Mississauga, Ontario, joined the Huskies in 2017 after a successful junior career with the Kitchener Rangers. Over three seasons with the Huskies, Di Perna played 88 regular season games, scoring 48 points (15 goals, 33 assists), and adding seven points (2 goals, 5 assists) in 21 playoff games with the Huskies. He was named to the 2017-18 AUS All-Rookie team, and helped the Huskies qualify for the U CUP National Championship in 2020.
Since graduating from Saint Mary's with a Bachelor of Commerce degree in 2020, Di Perna has played professionally in Italy, with HC Bolzano. He has represented Italy at the IIHF level in several competitions, and will be making his Olympic debut with the hosts of the 2026 Games in Milan Cortina.
Milan Cortina will mark Italy's first return to Olympic hockey since hosting the tournament in 2006. Italy opens on February 11, 2026, when they face Sweden, before facing Slovakia and Finland in round robin competition.
