MONCTON, NB - Saint Mary's forward Will Brown scored, but the Huskies dropped the result 4-1 to the Moncton Aigles Bleus in Atlantic University Sport men's soccer on Sunday afternoon at Croix-Bleue Medavie Stadium in Moncton, NB.
The first 45 minutes were played evenly, with both teams generating several scoring chances. Huskies first year keeper Logan Briand (Halifax, NS) made some outstanding saves, but a miscommunication in the 45th minute led to an own goal, giving the Aigles Bleus a 1-0 lead at half.
The second half saw the Aigles Bleus continue to pepper Briand with shots, and despite several more great saves, the Aigles Bleus were able to add two goals to their tally, with Mael Lavail scoring in the 49th minute, and Soumaila Mohamed Dagnoko scoring in the 70th minute to extend the lead to 3-0.

The Huskies responded in the 81st minute, as a Moncton turnover led to a breakaway chance for Will Brown (Halifax, NS) who took a touch around the Aigles Bleus keeper and calmly deposited it into goal to cut the lead to 3-1.

But Moncton added to their lead with Lavail scoring his second of the match in the 85th minute, securing the 4-1 win.
Logan Briand stopped 11 shots for the Huskies, while counterpart Soan Janssen stopped four shots for the Aigles Bleus.
The Aigles Bleus improve to 3-0-0 on the campaign, and will visit the Acadia Axemen (2-1-1) next Friday at 7:30 p.m. AST in Wolfville, NS.
The Huskies drop to 1-3-0 on the season and will hit the road to Sydney, NS next weekend, as they take on the Cape Breton Capers (1-1-1) on Friday, Sept. 12 at 7:30 p.m. AST.
