Huskies men's 4x400 relay break school record
HALIFAX, NS - The Saint Mary's Huskies are competing in the Athletics Nova Scotia Open at the Canada Games Centre in Halifax this weekend. In the first night of competition, the Huskies got off to a strong start.
The highlight of the night was the Huskies 4x400m team made up of Andy MacMullin, Innis MacMullin, Liam Foley, and Keegan Hall smashed the previous school record running a time of 3:27.76. That time currently ranks 8th in U SPORTS.
In the 3000m the Huskies had several personal bests, starting with Mackenzie Hayduk in a time of 11:19. For the men, Oliver Hubka in a time of 9:38, and Cole Miller in 9:35.
Building off of the positives of day one of competition the Huskies saw another day of strong competition on Saturday.
The Huskies saw many personal bests be broken throughout the course of the day, starting with Eric Wall in the 60m hurdles in a time of 10.40, Tayah Remington in the 60m in a time of 8.41, Chandler Zinck Marier in the 60m in a time of 7.14, Mackenzie Hayduk in the 1500m in a time of 5:13, Cole Miller in the 1500m in a time of 4:19, Brady Kyle in the 1500m in a time of 4:20, Matthew Mundy in the 1500 in a time of 4:29, Oliver Hubka in a time of 4:25, Keegan Hall in the 300m in a time of 37.90, Oliver Gavel in the 300m in a time of 36.77, Chandler Zinck Marier in the 300 in a time of 37.13, Ethan Delphin in the 300m in a time of 36.96, Chad Smith in the 300m in a time of 36.85, Eli Ford in the 600m in a time of 1:24, Keegan Hall in the 600m in a time of 1:29, and Oliver Gavel in the 600m in a time of 1:28.
The crown jewels of day two of competition looked once again to the relays as the Huskies men's 4x200m team placed first in a time of 1:32.35, narrowly missing the school record. However, yet another Saint Mary's school record fell as Andy MacMullin won the 300m in a time of 35.21, this ranks MacMullin 11th in the U SPORTS rankings.
The Huskies are back in action on January 31st and February 1st, as the Huskies travel to Saint John, New Brunswick for the NB Indoor Champs & University Invitational.
