Huskies announce commitment of Angus Jefferies for 2025-26 season

Saint Mary's track & field head coach Kevin Heisler is pleased to announce the commitment of sprinter Angus Jefferies to the Huskies line-up for the 2025-26 season.

A 5'9" sprinter from Nictaux, N.S., Jefferies competes for the Middleton Regional High School Monarchs and Annapolis County Athletics Track & Field Club.

Jefferies won the Middleton High 2023 Track & Field 'Top Overall Performance Award', and has qualified for the School Sport Nova Scotia Track & Field provincials in the 200m in 2022, 2023 and 2024.

He also helped lead his Annapolis County Athletics relay teams to medals at the 2024 Atlantic Track & Field Championship.

Jefferies has current personal best times of 11.47 in the 100m, 24.00 in the 200m, and 54.11 in the 400m.

"I am thrilled to move forward from high school to college athletics, into the tightly knit community that is Saint Mary's University and its Track & Field team," says Jefferies. "My time spent at Annapolis County Athletics was well rounded and inspiring, leading me to meet wise coaches and inspirational athletes that compete as Huskies. I greatly look forward to what lies ahead in my athletic future at Saint Mary's."

Jefferies will be pursuing a Diploma of Engineering at Saint Mary's.
