Huskies shut out Tigers 2-0
HALIFAX, NS – Saint Mary's goaltender Ridleigh Hansen stopped all 22 shots faced, leading the Huskies to a 2-0 shutout win over the Dalhousie Tigers in Atlantic University Sport women's hockey action on Wednesday night at the Halifax Forum.
Neither team scored in the opening period, with the Huskies outshooting the Tigers 15-8, but both Ridleigh Hansen (Red Deer, AB) and Dalhousie netminder Grace Beer (Oakville, ON) turned away all shots faced.
Just over a minute into the second period, the Huskies took the lead, as forward Mia Faseruk (Winnipeg, MB) dug the puck out against the boards and fed a pass to Renee Olsen (Yarmouth, NS) who fired a wicked wrist shot that picked the top corner over Beer's shoulder, giving the Huskies a 1-0 lead,
