Huskies women’s soccer announce commitment of goalkeeper Lauren Yeomans

Saint Mary's Huskies women's soccer head coach Marisa Colzie is pleased to announce the commitment of goalkeeper Lauren Yeomans for the 2026 season.

A 5'8" goalkeeper from Ottawa, ON, Yeomans joins the Huskies out of St. Francis Xavier Catholic High School, and Ottawa TFC.

"I'm so excited to represent the Huskies at the U SPORTS level, and to continue to grow and learn as a player!" says Lauren. "Thank you so much to my friends and family for supporting me through this journey. Also a big thank you to Coach Marisa for this amazing opportunity and to OTFC for shaping me into the player I am today! Go Huskies!"

Yeomans has played for Ottawa TFC at the U17 level since she was 14 years old, starting at goalkeeper for the past three seasons. In 2024, she helped lead OTFC to the Gary Miller Charity Shield Final, earning a silver medal, as well as a semifinal appearance in 2025.

During the 2024 school soccer season, Yeomans helped lead St. Francis Xavier High to a city championship, helping her to an undefeated season (7-0-1) and only conceding six goals in eight games played.

Yeomans is described as a confident, fearless and competitive goalkeeper, who is a strong communicator and remains calm under pressure.

"We are so happy to welcome Lauren Yeomans to the Huskies program!" says Huskies head coach Marisa Colzie. "Lauren is a high level keeper and has been starting at the U17 level since she was 14 years old. She is athletic, confident with the ball at her feet, and a great shotstopper."

An honour roll student, Yeomans will be studying a Bachelor of Arts at Saint Mary's, with plans to major in Psychology.

The Huskies will kick-off the 2026 season on home field as they host the UNB REDS on Saturday, Sept. 5 at 1 p.m. at Huskies Stadium.
