Huskies women’s soccer announce commitment of defender Jordan Obilo

Saint Mary's Huskies women's soccer head coach Marisa Colzie is pleased to announce the commitment of defender Jordan Obilo for the 2026 season.

A 5'6" centreback from Oakville, ON, Obilo joins the Huskies out of Holy Trinity Catholic Secondary School and the Burlington Bayhawks.

"I'm very happy with my decision to come to Saint Mary's!" says Jordan. "When I visited campus, I felt extremely welcomed by everyone and fell in love with Halifax! I am so grateful and excited to have the opportunity to be part of this amazing program!"

Jordan began playing soccer at five years old, and has had great success at the club level. In 2024, Obilo helped her Burlington Bayhawks team win a silver medal at the Top Rated Umbro Showcase, and also helped Oakville Soccer Club win the Trillium Cup.

Obilo also participated in First Touch Football Combines in 2024, 2023 & 2022, helping her team win the FTF Canada 2024 Fall Showcase, and was ranked #119 in the 2026 Grad Class.

Obilo is described as a physical presence and strong passer on the backline, and a vocal leader. She is proudly of Nigerian and Czech descent, and in her freetime loves baking, listening to music, and spending time with her three cats and one dog.

An honour roll student, Obilo will be studying a Bachelor of Arts at Saint Mary's.

The Huskies will kick-off the 2026 season on home field as they host the UNB REDS on Saturday, Sept. 5 at 1 p.m. at Huskies Stadium.
