Downey and Fraser named Huskies Athletes of the Week: Nov. 18-24, 2024
Men's basketball guard Jasha'jaun Downey and women's basketball guard Aliyah Fraser have been named Huskies Athletes of the Week, sponsored by Freeman's Little New York Halifax, for the week ending November 24th, 2024.

Jasha'jaun Downey, a second year guard from North Preston, NS, is the Huskies male athlete of the week for the week of Nov. 18-24, 2024.
In Saturday's 79-60 win over the UNB REDS, Downey led all scorers with 24 points, including five three-pointers made, and added two rebounds, two assists and a steal, on his way to being named Player of the Game.
On the season, Downey leads the Huskies and ranks fifth in the AUS in scoring, averaging 18.3 points per game. He also leads the AUS with 23 three-pointers made, and ranks third in the conference in three-point percentage at 43.4%.
The Huskies win improved their record to 3-4 on the season. Saint Mary's will be back on home court on Wednesday, Nov. 27, as they host the STFX X-Men (6-1) at 8 p.m. at the Homburg Centre. GET TICKETS

Aliyah Fraser, a fifth year guard from New Glasgow, NS, is the Huskies female athlete of the week for the week of Nov. 18-24, 2024.
In Saturday's 86-66 win over the UNB REDS, Fraser was named Player of the Game, scoring a season-high 17 points on 6/12 shooting from the field, including 5/7 from three-point range, and adding five rebounds and one assist.
On the season, Fraser leads the Huskies and ranks sixth in the AUS with 15 three-pointers made, and ranks ninth in the conference in three-point shooting percentage at 35.7%.
The Huskies win improved their record to 7-0 on the season. Saint Mary's will be back on home court on Wednesday, Nov. 27, as they host the STFX X-Women (3-4) at 6 p.m. at the Homburg Centre. GET TICKETS
